DoubleMouse

¿Tienes dos mouse físicos? DoubleMouse le da a cada uno su propio puntero. También puedes usar el trackpad de tu MacBook junto con un mouse externo: dos punteros a la vez, porque compartir está bien; esperar turno, no tanto.

Requires two pointing devices: two physical mice, or the built-in trackpad plus an external mouse. Universal binary for Apple Silicon and Intel; needs macOS 13 or later. You can also check the SHA-256 checksum.

Status

DoubleMouse 1.2.2 is a public, open-source beta. The main flow already works: two simultaneous pointers, separate left and right clicks, scrolling on both axes and dragging with the secondary mouse.

What it does

• Moves the normal cursor and the blue pointer at the same time.
• Assigns independent left and right clicks to each physical mouse.
• Lets you scroll vertically and horizontally, and drag with the blue pointer.
• Tunes the blue pointer speed, with optional acceleration, to match a high-DPI mouse.
• Remembers the chosen mouse between launches.
• Works with USB or Bluetooth mice, and with trackpad-plus-external-mouse setups.
• Lives in the macOS menu bar.
• No accounts, no analytics, no network access, no kernel extensions.

Installing

1. Open the DMG and drag DoubleMouse to Applications.
2. Launch the app and grant Accessibility permission when macOS asks.
3. If the blue pointer does not respond, also enable DoubleMouse under Privacy & Security > Input Monitoring.
4. Use “Set Blue Pointer From Next Movement” in the menu bar to pick the secondary mouse.

Esta versión está firmada con un Developer ID y notarizada por Apple, así que se abre sin advertencias de Gatekeeper. Si venís de una versión anterior, macOS la trata como una app distinta porque cambió la firma: hay que volver a concederle Accesibilidad, y Monitorización de entrada si el puntero azul no responde.

Limitations

• macOS keeps a single global button state, so two simultaneous drags are not possible.
• The blue pointer does not trigger hover: buttons do not highlight under it, tooltips do not appear and submenus do not open. macOS keeps a single cursor position, and moving the real cursor to the blue pointer and back on every movement would leave it jittering constantly. Clicking, scrolling and dragging are unaffected.
• Some games, remote desktops and custom controls may reject synthetic events.
• The blue mouse is remembered by USB or Bluetooth port: if you move it to another port, you have to pick it again.

macOS 13 or later, two compatible pointing devices, and Accessibility plus Input Monitoring permissions.
