What I take off your plate

It almost always starts with "my computer is slow". They call me when the disk fills up and work stops. It is almost never the machine. It is a paid antivirus asking to renew when Windows already includes one for free. It is a disk split in two by a previous technician, with C full and D empty. On a Mac it is thousands of photos stuck on a phone, with no backup and scattered across folders and external drives, when three dollars a month puts them all in one place and in sync everywhere. None of that is fixed by buying a new computer.

Apple ecosystem

Mac, iPhone and iPad working as one. Photos in a single place, no duplicates and in sync, with the iCloud storage shared across the whole family. This is my niche, and I also build and ship my own apps for macOS and iOS.

Windows and infrastructure

Windows and Android support, LAN and Wi-Fi networks, backups, printers, user access and preventive maintenance. Remote troubleshooting and on-site work.

Automation and business systems

WhatsApp automation with MessageBird and ActiveCampaign, WordPress and WooCommerce, CRM workflows, and custom systems when off-the-shelf software does not fit.

The rest is what can cost you the year

Nobody remembers to turn the backup on. Then a disk fails, a phone goes missing, a laptop gets soaked, and there is nowhere to go back to. When I review a setup, that is the first thing I leave running on its own, with nobody having to remember anything.

And when what exists does not fit

Not mockups, not prototypes: finished systems, with the whole workflow solved end to end. The timings below are real, from the first line of code to the delivered system.

School enrolment system

Families submit their paperwork by photographing it with a phone. No scanner, no PDF, no trip to the office. The school reviews and approves it from an admin panel. Built and working. See how it works.

Riesgo País and Me Robaron El Celu on the App Store, for iPhone. DoubleMouse for macOS and Achicar PDF for Windows, both open source. Design, code, release and support: all mine.

Contributions to other people’s projects

Cardinal is my contribution to cardisoft’s file search: the search engine is theirs, the interface work is mine. And Liturgia de las Horas is a wrapper around liturgiadelashoras.github.io, which is where all the liturgical content comes from.
